I made this skirt using fabric handwoven by the amazing women of the Maya Traditions Foundation in Guatemala using a method called backstrap weaving. The women are physically attached to their loom and a tree making the weaving itself a true connection between artisan and nature. The fabric is dyed by the women using locally found plants and insects. This protects the artisans, community, and natural surroundings by reducing the use of synthetic chemicals in dying . The colours and quality of the fabric are vibrant and outstanding. By purchasing this skirt you are contributing to the educational and economic empowerment of these women, their families, and community.

All FairPlay skirts, shorts and trousers for children are made with elasticated waists to allow for comfort and a long life. This is why I size based on age.
If possible get your little one’s waist measurement to choose the correct size for them.
Most skirts are above the knee.
Always happy to work with you to make a piece just your size.
Keep it cool and eco when you wash your FairPlay Clothing and if you can, throw them on the line for some sunshine to dry.
