The Connie Top is named after my mom Connie. She was a lovely woman and the most amazing mom. I am truly blessed to have been loved and raised by such a beautiful person inside and out. She left this planet in August 2018 after fighting colon cancer for 17 months. She was kind, caring, funny, a lover or music, a worshipper of the sun and life itself. I miss her everyday and because of that I have chosen to recreate a top that I found in her closet made in the 70s, possibly by my Nana. 10% of sales from Connie Tops will go to Princess Alice Hospice. I know it's a small gesture but I know that the care and support they give families and those living with cancer is what my mom received in Virginia from Blue Ridge Hospice. As I am based in the UK and know families who have been supported by PAH, I've chosen them.
The tops are fun, floaty and forgiving a bit like my mom :). They are a work in progress so these prototypes are available at a reduced price until I am 100% happy with them. I love the versatility of these tops. I made myself one last year and have worn it all year round. In the autumn and winter I tossed on a long or short sleeve underneath and in the winter, a polar neck worked great. In the spring, a vest and in the summer a funky little sports bra with a bit of back worked making it great for a summer festival! I think this would be a great top for new mums nursing as it has two ties - one at the neck and one just about 10 inches down. With a nursing top underneath your Connie Top, untie the bottom tie and pop baby under with plenty of space for a relaxing feed wherever you may be. :)
Sizing - still a work in progress but it looks something like this
Small up to size 10
Medium up to size 14
Large up to size 18
I'm not in the habit of mass production as slow fashion is my lane of choice so once I have this top where I'd like it, I plan to have fabric (either remnants, donated, recycled or responsibly sourced) ready for you to choose your pattern and size to create a one of kind for you.
I bought this viscose fabric about 3 years ago and finished it off with these two tops. They are both S/M. It’s so hard not to keep one for myself! This will make a great festival or weekend away too as it’s reversible 😁 Looks awesome with flared jeans or jean shorts.

All FairPlay skirts, shorts and trousers for children are made with elasticated waists to allow for comfort and a long life. This is why I size based on age.
If possible get your little one’s waist measurement to choose the correct size for them.
Most skirts are above the knee.
Always happy to work with you to make a piece just your size.
Keep it cool and eco when you wash your FairPlay Clothing and if you can, throw them on the line for some sunshine to dry.
